Google Cloud Certification Exam Prep

Google Cloud certifies at three levels. Foundational (Cloud Digital Leader and Generative AI Leader) is for business and technical roles alike and needs no hands-on experience. Associate (Associate Cloud Engineer, Associate Data Practitioner and Associate Google Workspace Administrator) proves you can do the day-to-day work. Professional covers specialist roles: Cloud Architect, Cloud Database Engineer, Cloud Developer, Data Engineer, Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Security Engineer, Cloud Network Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer and Security Operations Engineer, with a new Agentic Architect certification being added.

There are no formal prerequisites for any Google Cloud exam, only recommended experience: none for foundational, six months of hands-on Google Cloud work for associate, and three years of industry experience including a year on Google Cloud for professional. Associate Cloud Engineer is the usual first technical certification, and the base most people build a professional certification on.

Foundational and associate certifications are valid for three years, professional ones for two. Some, including Associate Cloud Engineer, can be renewed with a shorter renewal exam near the end of the validity period. Since early 2026 exams have been delivered by Pearson VUE, online through OnVUE or at a test centre, and are still booked through Google's certification portal.

MindMesh Academy currently prepares you for Associate Cloud Engineer: a study guide written from first principles, a practice-exam bank and spaced-repetition flashcards, with a free sample to start. Pair it with real time in a Google Cloud project, because the exam asks what you would actually run, not what a service is called.
